The Eraser Tool

14 October 2007 No Comment

The eraser tool is your best friend in creating a photo collage. Traditionally, collage artists would extract the parts of the photo they wanted, or use complicated masking techniques. The eraser tool is much easier to use for a beginner to intermediate and works very well in creating a blended collage effect with all soft edges.

The eraser brush can be sized as needed and a soft edge applied to help soften the look. The opacity of the brush can also be adjusted to blend the edges of each photo together.

Get to know the eraser tool in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements and you’ll find the whole process of collage art much easier.
